A completely cosmic Starhawk trailer launched today with a payload of four minutes of space combat from Lightbox's PlayStation 3-exclusive spiritual successor to Warhawk.

Check it out after the break.

Lightbox president Dylan Jobe notes on the PlayStation Blog that the trailer's action takes place on the CTF Small Orbital Platform map. Jobe says that whilst set in space, the orbital platform maps "feel urban, with city and street combat and that's something that we're really happy about!"

Starhawk is slated to land on PlayStation 3 next year.

It looks pretty awesome from what I've seen so far, but I will wait for the reviews before committing to a purchase.

Doesn't necessarily compete graphically with anything out now, but the gameplay looks like it could be fun. Definitely in wait and see mode.

I actually really like the graphics. You have to understand the scale of the game. This isn't 12 players running around on a map. There is a lot going on and from what I understand it's at around 60 fps.
