PlayStation Vita battery life: 3-5 hours of gameplay
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 15, 2011 7:30am PDTYou'll be able to get 3-5 hours of game playtime out of the PlayStation Vita, Sony has revealed with a new system specs sheet. For comparison purposes, the PSP Go has a quoted battery life of 3-6 hours game time. Nintendo's 3DS also has a 3-5 hour quoted battery life.
The spec sheet from Sony Japan (via IGN) also reveals that the snazzy new handheld will have enough battery life for 5 hours of playing video, or about 9 hours of playing audio. The 2200mA lithium ion battery will take 2 hours and 40 minutes to charge, Sony says.
The Vita launches in Japan on December 17, Sony announced this week, but it isn't due in North America and Europe until early next year. The basic Wi-Fi-only model will cost $249.99, while the flashy 3G-enabled version will be $299.99.
