Shrek and his lesser-known chums from other DreamWorks Animation movies are coming together to compete in power-up-tastic "wacky" racing with DreamWorks Super Star Kartz, publisher Activision has announced. Hey, that sounds somewhat familiar!

Fourteen characters from Shrek, Madagascar, How To Train Your Dragon, and Monsters vs. Aliens will be available for your racing pleasure, including penguins, zebras, lions, and Shrek himself, along with tracks inspired by movie locations. As one expects from the genre, there'll be four-player split-screen multiplayer.

Shrek and Monsters vs. Aliens already played small parts in Madagascar Kartz, and Shrek has had his own racer too, but this is the thorough cross-over presumably someone has been asking for.

DreamWorks Super Star Kartz is slated for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo DS this holiday season.
