Call of Duty XP begins today, which means that we're likely to get an overwhelming deluge of Modern Warfare 3 stories. The multiplayer mode is being fully revealed this weekend, but before the festivities start, it appears someone's managed to put the trailer up on YouTube. The nearly four-minute trailer shows off everything we've come to expect from a COD game: over-the-top action and tons of fast-paced kills. This time, though, it's in locales we can recognize.

shit yea I am. I never really got into black ops for some reason, but I still dumped enough hours into it to make the purchase worthwhile.

I fully expect to lose many hours of my life to MW3 multiplayer

I almost didn't even buy BLOPS because I figured I'd already played so fucking much MW2 that I'd just get bored of it. When Best Buy did their trade in deal I wound up trading MW2 and Smash Bros for $60 credit towards BLOPS so I bought it anyhow and wound up playing it even more hours than MW2. I don't know what it is about these games that is addicting as hell.

More like $105, as 3 DLC map packs seems to be the normal thing now.

More like $1500 lawl. Activision actually uses your Kinect to read your credit card off the table and then steals your money. It's REQUIRED DLC that way. Totally required.

My reaction to the BF3 trailer was *butterflies in my stomach* "this is going to be fucking amazing". My reaction to MW3 "I wish more of my friends were going to play BF3 instead of this"

Is it just me or did they try to show as much destruction as they could with their engine in this trailer? It's the same kind of destruction that is in all the CoD games. Glass, trucks, and random shit on tables, etc.

So much glass falling!!!!! not even the fucking tables with food break apart!!!! Is this a patch for MW2 because it looks like the same low-res bullshit as the last 4 games.

Looks exactly like MW2? How about Activision spends some money to actually work on the game

And let the Battlefield 3 fanboys start slinging the insults! Seriously, can you people not keep it civil for once? Both games look fun. Pick one or both, doesn't matter. No one on the internet cares which one you prefer.

I'm not trying to bash MW3 here, but this game needs a new graphics engine... badly. I don't understand why they aren't developing this with all the moneyhats they're bringing in with the franchise. Yes, BF3 looks amazing, but because they invested a few years on a really nice new engine in the background while making BFBC1 & 2.

The textures in that trailer were so blurry and low resolution. The color palette was bland and the gameplay, which is where its at...looks the same. I know a lot of people hated tanks in CoD5, but I thought it brought a nice element of change. Not too much, but enough.

They're not gong to change engines, because they don't want to lose the 60FPS advantage.

Plus why spend more money when you can just churn out content on the same old engine and still sell record numbers?

fuck it thats it, i'm buying BF3... this pisses me off considering I AM a COD fanboy but that trailer which was "MOST ANTICIPATED", is fail. While I enjoy playing a game at 60 FPS, I would in-turn rather play BF3 at 30 FPS with a new engine. This is so depressing..

Wow, they should have just shown gameplay from first person like they did for MW2 and Blops. That would have been way more effective. The slow mo action leaps while bullets and tomahawks whiz through the air just look ridiculous, and it's even harder to take seriously considering how bad (visually) the game looks. I mean, even CoD4, WaW, MW2, and Blops had moments where they actually looked good. Low rez textures or not, the washed out grey/yellow/brown color pallet of this game does not look appealing.

This isn't just the game - the trailer's badly edited and the camera shots are awful. Its like 1999-level production.
