Dungeon Siege 3 will be adding a new piece of downloadable content this October, which will raise the level cap, add a new quest, and bring in a new enchantment system. The "Treasures of the Sun" pack is set to launch for $9.99 on Steam, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live. The new DLC takes place in the Aronoi desert, in a quest to find a lost Legion hero. Obsidian will be raising the level cap from 30 to 35 for this expansion, along with introducing a new array of abilities and allowing the player to reallocate talent and proficiency points. You'll also be able to enchant your weapons and armors with Vials produced through transmuting items. New enemies include mummies and giant skeletons, which is more or less what you should expect from the desert. If I were a betting man, I'd wager on scorpions making an appearance too.

Awesome - I really liked this game despite it being consolized. The co-op is just good food with some buddies. Only thing is I wish they would consider a New Game+ mode for this DLC as well.

Very much agreed. $10 seems like a lot for a simple level cap raise + 1 quest, unless that quest is several hours long.

Does this DLC fix the voice acting? Its like they just grabbed people wandering by the office one day to voice the player characters. I couldn't even finish the demo.

I really hope its not just 3 more spells plus their masters? (form 1, form 2, buff)

I am a fan of this game and really like it but the spell system is pretty weak and holding it back form being really rad. There are only 9 spells and really you only have 6 because there are two forms that use different spells. 3 are generic buffs that both forms use and the other 6 are 3 for one form and 3 for the other. Really this system is not comparable to other ARPGs. Sure each of these spells has a master form but it can only be used with a super power bar that takes a bit to juice up, and mana system is kill and gather mana points so its limited and sparse.

I play with Anjali in her fire form I do not use the other form and have specked my talent points to one form I don't want to use the other form since they are two different play styles. I understand the devs have this as a game mechanic but it does not work or is frustrating for RPG build dudes.

The re specking will be a god send and I really hope they add more spells. I worry about only 5 more lvls how long is the content? Still I am a fan and will take what ever I can get but really I would of hoped for a new class and at least +10 to lvl cap and add a lot more spells on each teir and really get rid of the spells on the same page and make it tree style.

I am optimistic but like I said they could of done so much more :( (they should of played more ARPGs) still I will get this in October for sure, better be good...

I bet its only three new spells :( --> "New abilities: Players will be able to attain mastery of the arcane through powerful new attack, defense and healing abilities"

Hey Valcan! There are three new "ultimate" abilities that are not cast in the same way as the regular abilities. Details will be forthcoming :)

The more console-friendly the Dungeon Siege Games get, the less they seem to impress...
