Aliens: Infestation, the side-scrolling DS action game from WayForward, will come to North America on October 11. European fans will snag the game a bit earlier, this time, with a release on September 30. The game is being developed in collaboration with Gearbox Software, and ties in with next year's Aliens: Colonial Marines.

GameSpot reported on the release dates after meeting with Gearbox at PAX 2011. WayForward has stacked up quite a reputation for itself as a studio that crafts well-made retro-styled titles, having made A Boy and His Blob, Shantae: Risky's Revenge, and the kid-friendly Batman: The Brave and the Bold. The studio has BloodRayne: Betrayal coming soon, but Aliens will probably bear a stronger resemblance to Contra 4.
