During PAX 2011 'Day Zero,' Turn 10's Dan Greenawalt revealed a surprise addition to Forza 4's "Auto Vista" mode: Halo's famous Warthog.

Perhaps even bigger is the news that the Warthog model in Forza 4 is actually the version of the vehicle that will appear in Halo 4.

Joking that it would be the slowest vehicle in Forza 4--topping off at just over 70mph--343 Industries' Frank O'Connor confirmed that the vehicle will not be drivable in Forza 4.

In the Auto Vista mode players can walk around and examine a number of vehicles in Forza 4 with either a controller of via Microsoft's Kinect peripheral. In the mode players can open car doors, start the vehicle, examine the engine, and learn more about the rare ride.

With the Warthog in Forza 4, players will be able to interact with it similarly to other Auto Vista vehicles; however, information about the ride will outline interesting tidbits about it and its relation to the upcoming Halo adventure. As another nod to fan service, Turn 10 has nabbed voice actor Jen Taylor--a.k.a the voice of Cortana--to detail information about the vehicle in Forza 4's Auto Vista mode.

Getting the vehicle won't be easy, though, Greenawalt said. According to Forza 4's director, the Halo 4 Warthog is an Easter Egg in the final version of the upcoming racing sim.

Forza 4 is scheduled to ship in October, exclusively for the Xbox 360.

          What's wrong with RUFs?

Not enough of them. No RUF Caymans or Boxsters or CGT's. I hope they can do tuner versions though, if they do that I think the lack of Porsche's wont be a big deal.

This clearly was the product of a marketer who had too much coffee...

Perhaps they will make Turn 10 work on a smash brothers-esque racing game once they are done with Forza :)

Hmm, I'm assuming that the Warthog exists in Halo 4 mainly because Master Chief is still on board a UNSC ship which probably had some stuff left over.

However, a thought came across the other day and I thought it might be possible that Master Chief will run into the crew and other Spartans who are still on board the Spirit of Fire from Halo Wars. It would provided a convenient way for there to be Marines, Spartans, and UNSC gear.

Or MC runs into Dr. Halsey and the Spartan group from Ghosts of Onyx.

Pretty much there's a lot of ways they can go with this in Halo 4. It is also indeterminate how much time has passed between Halo 3 and 4. They showed that Master Chief is still out there somewhere 50 years later from the end of Halo 3 in those memorial style ads. Similiar to how the very end of Reach that the planet has been terraformed 50 years later and the UNSC has new looking style of ships.
