BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend was originally announced for PlayStation Vita. The game is an enhanced version of BlazBlue Continuum Shift II, adding Ignis and Relius Clover as playable characters, and additional new scenarios.

Famitsu reveals that Extend is also coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, making it a banner year for fans of purchasing slightly tweaked fighting games.

In addition to the new characters, Andriasang notes that the Vita (and presumably the PS3 and Xbox 360) version includes a new Network Mode that supports "irregular team counts." If you don't want to keep it fair, for example, you can fight 2 against 4. A new Abyss Mode will offer a "refined" version of the story from the original game.

There will be some kind of cross-compatibility between the PS3 and Vita versions as well, with save data transferable from one system to the other.

Unfortunately for console owners, it's unclear how Arc System Works plans on delivering and pricing the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. If it goes the retail route, hopefully it follows the model set by Super Street Fighter IV and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and releases at a lowered price.
