During Gamescom, Deadly Premonition developer Hidetaka Suehiro said that his studio at Access Games had plans to develop more games in the cult-hit video game series.

Suehiro, who goes by the nickname SWERY, also mentioned plans for a special edition of Deadly Premonition that would launch with an upgrade to the original title's visuals.

According to Metro.co.uk, SWERY's team is working on an original action-adventure title in a "similar story-led mode to Deadly Premonition."

Though he would not delve into specifics, SWERY stated that his studio has attracted attention from Western publishers in the wake of Deadly Premonition's success.

The original title was published by UTV Ignition Entertainment, exclusively for the Xbox 360 in North America. Europe also received an exclusive Xbox 360 release, from publisher Rising Star Games. Japan received a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version of the game in March 2010.

Deadly Premonition received "mixed or average reviews" when it launched, but the game's quirky style and story attracted a strong fan following.

"The menu system is so OBTUSE and INSANE! You push the Menu, and like, LEAVES flash on your screen, and then there's like... a THOUSAND THINGS!!" -- Jeff Cannata on Deadly Premonition's Start button menu, Weekend Confirmed 16, 28 minutes 14 seconds

Obviously, Weekend Confirmed 16 is a classic for Jeff's take on Deadly Premonition.

OK, this is totally unexpected and intriguing. I'll admit there were things about Deadly Premonition that were so hideously bad it got in the way of me finishing the game as of yet. It's always great to hear some weird underdog game gets some love and a renewed chance on life, though!
