.hack//The Movie hybrid Blu-ray includes PS3 game
by Andrew Yoon, Aug 23, 2011 4:45pm PDTNamco Bandai and CyberConnect2 have announced a new addition to the .hack franchise. Fans were initially disappointed to find out that the new project would not be a new game to the PS2 RPG series, but a 3D CG movie adaptation of the franchise.
However, it appears that the .hack games are being revived in some form. Namco Bandai announced that the Blu-ray release of the movie will be a "hybrid" disc, not unlike the upcoming Tekken Hybrid. In addition to the movie, the Blu-ray disc will include a "small game."
Unfortunately, Namco Bandai didn't offer any other details on what the interactive content included on the Blu-ray will be. Will it be an HD port of one of the previous .hack games? Or, will it be a brand new game?
For now, fans will have to wait to find out more. Until then, here's a trailer for the movie:
