Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection hits this month
by Alice O'Connor, Aug 23, 2011 9:30am PDTIt's almost time to punch faces like it's 1995, as Warner Bros. has announced that the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will hit PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at the end of this month with its meaty trio of vintage Mortal Kombat games.
The Kollection jazzes up the original Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 with online multiplayer, leaderboards, and those all-unimportant achievements and trophies. It's developed by Other Ocean with NetherRealm Studios, the folks who made the games in the first place at Midway.
The Kollection will cost $9.99 on PC and PS3, and an equivalent 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360. Warner says that it'll hit all three platforms on August 31, but that's a Wednesday and the PlayStation Store updates on Tuesday, so expect it a day earlier on PSN.
Joystick maker PDP, who created the acclaimed Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition Fight Sticks for the modern Mortal Kombat, has whipped up limited edition Mortal Kombat Klassic Fight Sticks for the Kollection. Costing $129.99 and available only from GameStop, they're available in Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 flavors, and include a Kollection download code.
