Official PS3 wireless stereo headset available on Sept. 6
by Jeff Mattas, Aug 22, 2011 12:45pm PDTIn the market for a new headset for your PlayStation 3? Sony has announced that a new official wireless stereo headset will soon be available at retail. Unlike the standard Bluetooth headset, the new stereo headset plays back audio from the PS3 in 7.1 surround sound. It also includes a retractable microphone, and on-screen status messages when used on a PS3.
The official stereo headset for the PlayStation 3 will run $100 when it hits stores on September 6. The trailer for the peripheral is a bit silly (provided you know how a headset works), but it successfully illustrates how you'll be able to play stuff like Uncharted 3 without disturbing the attractive magazine-reader beside you.
