World of Warcraft 4.3 patch details revealed
by Xav de Matos, Aug 18, 2011 4:15pm PDTDetails on the 4.3 patch for World of Warcraft have found their way online, with a close examination of the game's upcoming "Transmogrification" technology, brought forth by the Ethereals, that allow for cosmetic customization of certain items outfitting warriors of the Alliance or Horde as well as a number of other additions.
Speaking with German fan site World of War.de, Blizzard developer Tom Chilton revealed that the update will include three new five-man instances and noted that it will finally be the update that pits players against the Deathwing the Destroyer.
As for Transmogrification, a recent blog post on the official World of Warcraft site detailed how the weapon and armor customization will work:
Visiting a Transmogrifier will present players with a new interface that will allow them to change the appearance of an item while retaining its original stats. This means that you can raid in your paladin tier 12 Immolation set, but look like you’re wearing Lightbringer, while priests can bring Benediction back--at least in spirit.
According to Chilton, Legendary items are off-limits, as they will ruin the item's "mystique."
Blizzard has stated that it is working to get the update out before the end of this year.

Too bad it's too little too late, they have do about a couple dozen things like this to stop the gushing outflow of players from their game. It's like a rupture on a main artery and slapping a baindaid on it isn't going to stop it this time.
