The Secret World launches April 2012

Funcom's real-world-ish supernatural MMORPG will launch in April 2012, it's been announced. Beta signups will open on August 26.

Everything we know is wrong, but soon we shall learn the truth. The Secret World creator Ragnar Tørnquist announced during publisher EA's Gamescom press conference that Funcom's conspiratorial supernatural MMORPG will launch for PC in April 2012.

On top of that, Tørnquist revealed that beta signups will open on August 26. But when will the beta actually begin? That's part of the mystery.

        I hope so, but I doubt it. When I started playing AO it felt like the game had something special that pulled me in. There were those places on the map that had mystery to them, it was a fun game to explore. It was also neat when a new patch came out, getting the items or going to the new area before everyone else and so on.

      YES! I've been waiting for an MMO to do this! No leveling, no classes.

      Ugh, this and Warhammer 40k: Dark Millenium are the only future MMOs I care about, and I won't play both at the same time. I'm pretty sure W40k will win though.

      If TOR doesn't do well i'll be giving this a try next year. If it's F2P i'll definitely give it a try.
