Do you hate the world? The demo for Codemasters' destruction-mad shooter Bodycount might not let you outright end everything and put us all out of our unending misery, but it will let you smash up a small virtual corner of it. The demo launched today on Xbox 360, and "will follow" for PlayStation 3.

"The demo of Bodycount takes place very early in the game and what we've gone for is a really good display of what Bodycount's capable of, and what players can expect when they buy the full game," says level designer Andrew Parsons in an accompanying trailer. Better hope you enjoy the demo, then.

As is customary, the Xbox 360 demo is presently exclusive to Xbox Live Gold members. With the game launching on August 30, presumably the PS3 demo isn't too far off.

this thing took almost 3 minutes to load. Also, the visuals are dodgy but both issues are probably due to the amount of memory that has to go to the destructive environments. The nearest comparison I can make to another game would be "Black" on the original Xbox and PS2. Not bad but its a bit rough around the edges.

Destruction and powerups are good, but I can't stand how LT roots you to the spot. This game should focus on blowing stuff up with powerful guns, not trying to reinvent shooter controls.

      Gonna have to pass.

even if this game is good, im gonna have to put it on the backburner till jan/feb. Too many games coming out that are D1 purchases to get this too. Im hoping its good enough to get when it's cheaper. Not tried the demo yet though.

Not very good at all.. Took a while to load, gameplay tries to copy Bulletstorm and does a pretty bad job to be honest. Graphics are shoddy and could do with a huge coating of AA. If this sort of gameplay appeals to you then I would say to just replay Bulletstorm
