Child of Eden PS3 pushed to September 27 in US, 30 in Europe
by Steve Watts, Aug 12, 2011 8:00am PDTThe PlayStation 3 version of Child of Eden has been given a slight nudge, pushing the release date back a week in North America and Europe. The game had been slated to release on September 20 and 23, respectively; but Ubisoft has announced new dates: September 27 in NA, and 30 in Europe.
While Move support has long been "expected," this release announcement also officially confirms the functionality. Ubisoft is also promising 3D support on the PS3, for those who want the trippy experience to get even trippier.
The remaining question is the price. We had heard that the game would launch at $49.99 in the US, just as it did on the Xbox 360 -- the standard price for Kinect games. But Ubisoft's European online shop listed the price at €19.99 (approximately $28).
The game was critically praised (including in our own review), but dinged by some reviews for its relatively short playtime. A smaller price tag might make the game easier to swallow for thrifty consumers, but the MSRP still seems to be $49.99 at US retail sites.
