BloodRayne XBLA delayed to Oct; SF3 and Renegade Ops still on pace

Wondering whether or not Sony's upcoming PSN Play event will require timed-exclusivity much like Microsoft's XBLA promotions, Shacknews contacts the developers involved in each upcoming title.

With Sony executing its own downloadable games promotion, Shacknews was wondering whether or not the PSN Play event would carry the timed-exclusivity requirement as Microsoft's XBLA events.

Beyond the SOE-developed--and therefore PlayStation 3 exclusive--title Payday: The Heist, only one game in the Play promotion has been confirmed to not have a simultaneous XBLA launch.

Originally scheduled to arrive for both the PSN and XBLA at the end of August, BloodRayne Betrayal is now scheduled for September 6 on PSN. According to Majesco, the Xbox Live Arcade version of the game will launch on October 5.

Sega tells Shacknews that its upcoming release, Renegade Ops from developer Avalanche, is "still on track for a multi-platform release in September."

For Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition, Capcom says the game will hit the PSN on August 23 and the XBLA on August 24.

As for Hothead's third game in the DeathSpank series, entitled The Baconing, it's unclear if the game's multiple versions will arrive simultaneously on all platforms--PC, Mac, Xbox Live Arcade, and PSN. Shacknews has contacted Hothead, but has yet to hear back at the time of publishing.

Purchasing the games via the PlayStation Network during the promotion also includes a number of exclusive bonuses, which are outlined in the announcement of the offer.
