Whereas other racing games focus exclusively on being "real," Turn 10 Studios is on a mission to "create the world's best driving roads." Today's dev diary for Forza Motorsport 4 focuses on a track nestled amidst the beautiful Bernese Alps. Among other things, the developers talk about the challenges of adding a fictional track to a real-world location, and describe the process of creating the game's nearly photo-real "sky-domes" and lighting.

According to the video, the track will pack tons of speed and challenge for vehicles of many different stripes. The developer also went through the effort to create a back-story for the track, one that involves a ski resort and a rich entrepreneur.

Forza Motorsport 4 will be available on Xbox 360 on October 11.

With Burnese and Burmese - kind of funny he didn't get Bernese.

glad someone realised that I have as much chance of driving laguna seca as I do this track.. the first few need for speed games had some of the best tracks I've ever played on, and they were all fictional.
