This weekend's PC digital distribution highlights include Civilization V for $12, Bulletstorm for $15, Just Cause 2 for $5, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines for $5, and 50% off Magicka and all its DLC. As ever, there's plenty more too. You really, honestly, truly should buy RPG-FPS Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Until Deus Ex: Human Revolution appeared on the horizon, it seemed to be the last of an amazing genre which never quite caught on. It's still remarkably good fun, and a game I replay every now and then. However! You absolutely must apply the community-made unofficial patch. Without it, Bloodlines is a terrible, crashy, buggy mess. With it, gosh, it's so lovely, and you'll mourn Troika more than ever. As well as being on sale, Dino D-Day is hosting one of Steam's famous 'free weekends,' letting you try before you buy. Here's our selection of this weekend's PC deals at digital distributors:

Origin is having some sales too --
      http://store.origin.com/store/ea/html/pbpage.summersale

BF: BC Vietnam for $5... tempting.
Anybody know if I can play it with my steam BF:BC if I get vietnam from origin?

All of the Vietnam assets are included in the game install, all you have to do is enter the key and it should work fine. I bought Vietnam from the EA store before they started all of this Origin shenanery and it worked fine for me.

If you can't you can put your steam cdkey of BFBC2 into Origin and get the deluxe copy there.

You cannot AFAIK. Steam games need steam DLC, and non-steam games need non-steam DLC.

          Awesome, Thanks ShoCon...

          My answer:
You have bought the base game on Steam, and Vietnam somewhere else - this works. The Vietnam expansion will not be visible in the Steam client, but you can access it in-game.

Looks like I'll be picking up Vietnam for $5

Now that's a price I can get down with for Civ V ! I read in the slickdealz.net forums that the key you get will activate on steam just fine.

Anyone here use Impulse, thoughts? That seems like a good deal for Bulletstorm which I haven't tried yet but want to.

I have bought a few things on Impulse (mostly Stardock games) and it's fine, fairly unobtrusive except when it needs an update, which seems to be every time one of my Impulse games gets a patch.

It's not too bad, it's owned by gamestop now though so who knows how they're going to change it.

Impulse is really good, you don't need to have it running to play your games (if GameStop hasn't changed that yet).

Bulletstorm doesn't Steam activate, does it?

I'd totally buy it for $15, but not on Impulse.

It was definitely buggy the last time I played it. I gave up when I had to deal with the old wizard boss whose spells didn't go away when I died and was otherwise behaving brokenly.

I got to level 4 or 5, but the gameplay got so repetitive that I lost interest. Is there anything in the later levels that make it worth playing more?

I got to one point where I went from cleaning house to immediately having my ass handed to me, and I spent like a total of two hours trying to get past that spot. Then I gave up and haven't played since.

They introduce a lot of large and fun enemies, with some pretty fucked up abilities. In particular there's a later level where you'll find that your weapons and spells don't quite do the same things they used to do, and you have to either run or figure it out.

It gets very difficult which tends to break the repetitiveness because it's likely that the repetitive strategies you've been using will no longer work.

Steam also seems to have the DCS games, Black Shark and A-10C Warthog for 33% off right now. Not sure of the duration.

Lots of great games on sale this weekend. Too bad I already own more than I can play.

I am so good about not spending much money on games but the more time I spend on this site the more I want to buy things even when I know I haven't spent enough time on the games I already own. I want to buy Civ V but I never really played Civ IV enough and I honestly do not need to be playing whatever the current games are when I have games that make me just as happy sitting in front of me.
I should just let it motivate me to actually play what I own instead of letting it tempt me into buying a bunch of stuff I don't need.
