by Steve Watts, Jul 27, 2011 3:00pm PDTNot long after Capcom pulled the plug on Mega Man Legends 3, fans pulled themselves up by their blue bootstraps and started various campaigns aimed at making the company reconsider. The fan movement has now gotten one notable bit of encouragement from the game's programming director.
A tweet from Capcom's Yoshiyuki Fujikawa (via Andriasang) said that while he can't wish petitioners good luck, he offers a feeling of support and seems positive about the petition catching Capcom's attention. He notes that fan support led to the release of DVDs in a similar instance.
Don't get too excited, though. Fujikawa isn't speaking on behalf of the company, so this really isn't a promise of things to come. If you are interested in lending support to the fans, the 100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3 group on Facebook is up to more than 32,000 members so far, and fans have been joining the Capcom Devroom, since lack of fan interest was cited as one reason behind the cancellation.
