If you were expecting a cheap date with Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, think again. Capcom has announced pricing for the upcoming HD ports of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code Veronica X for PS3 and Xbox 360. The digital downloads will be available on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Games on Demand on September 20th and 27th respectively for $19.99 each (1600 Microsoft Points).

Sure, that's twice the asking price of a copy of the PS2 & Wii versions. But you're getting upgraded visuals and achievements and trophies. Coinciding with the announcement are new videos showcasing the updated graphics.

They could've remade them entirely in the RE5 version of MT Framework, but no, they just want to make a little extra money so they just increased the resolution and added achievements with little else changed...

Back in the day, when mapping with the old quake engine, it was very easy to import legacy designs into the editor. Even easier to run a batch process to swap out textures. Shaders usually had to be re-written but those generally based on materials, are pretty close to the same. Um, yeah, for $20? Sure! Back in the days of mod tools, this would have been done for free on the PC by the community.

Why do they use HD when neither of the major consoles can truly support uncompressed HD? Why not called it upscaled to HD? U2HD tag! looks important, just what the console kiddies need! Do they really think consumers are gonna fall for dvd quality upscaled to 720? Oh wait... thats been going on for years....nvm, Commence purchase of more mediocrity,

CV is the best in the series IMO. 4 is a different game entirely, but each are the best given their style and format.

I don't get why people are complaining about the price? I don't remember anyone saying anything about the God of War collection or the Shadow/Ico HD upscales and those were 40 bucks each. The price is consistant.
