A sequel for Zen's comics-based flip 'em up has been announced, along with PC, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, iOS devices and Android versions of the original.

Say, you like comic books, don't you? Then you're probably just the anachronistic sort who also digs pinball, and would adore a combination of the two. Good news! Zen Studios announced Marvel Pinball: Vengeance and Virtue during Comic-Con over the weekend, along with editions of the original Marvel Pinball for just about every downloadable platform under the sun, present and future.

Marvel Pinball: Vengeance and Virtue is a new game (rather than downloadable content for the original), and will bring four new pinball tables starring Marvel Comics characters. So far, only Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze, not Danny Ketch) has been confirmed.

V&V will be released via Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this winter. There's no word on the price yet, but the original Marvel Pinball cost $10.

Zen's also working on downloadable releases for the original on PC, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, iOS devices and Android. There's no firm word on when they'll be released, nor how much they will cost. All Zen and Marvel have to say is that they'll all be out "by the end of 2012," and that more details "will be revealed as we get closer to each launch."

For anyone who hasn't tried it, virtualized pinball on a large HDTV is really fun.

Being a person who appreciates the real deal more, it's the next best thing. Even better than PinMAME recreations. They did a great job on the current tables. Marvel and FX2.

Disappointed to see this won't be DLC for Pinball FX2. Or, hopefully they'll at least let you load the tables from within FX2 even if it's a separate purchase. It's just easier to have all your tables from one UI.

      PFX2 is very well made.
