LA Noire's cut content wouldn't fit on Blu-ray disc

How much content got axed out of LA Noire before its release? Apparently, quite a bit. Team Bondi co-founder Brendan McNamara recently spoke to PSM3 about the game, and talked about the two desks that didn't make the game: bunko and burglary. But why didn't this content get finished? "We were never going to fit it on one Blu-ray."

In spite of its beleaguered development, LA Noire won both critical and financial acclaim. While its relationship with Rockstar is on shaky ground, there are many left longing for more. (The final DLC case for LA Noire released a few weeks ago.)

"We had eleven full cases for [Burglary], which we wrote and did the design for to a certain extent - we even did the art for them too," McNamara noted. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time and space to make the additional two desks possible. "I think there might have been a better arc if we did do that - you get more of a chance to introduce different things - but in terms of the overall experience I think we did pretty well."

Andrew Yoon was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

Well they could always include it in the PC version since there is no real size limit on PC.
But damn, this game is more than 25GB? I don't see why.

Right... Most Blu-Ray's are in the 30gb range as well. They are just trying to make it sound like they had so so so much more prepared... Well if it was finished. Then give it to us via DLC for free ass hats!

im pretty sure it costs developers money to host all that stuff on psn and xbox live. especially if that content was several gigs per person to download.

GTAIV is 16gb and L.A Noire has a lot more cut scenes and details. So it doesn't seem surprising at all.

the meat of the game is an interactive cut scene. i can see how they filled up a bluray and 3 multilayer DVDs

Seriously? They couldn't fit the game on a blu-ray? That's total bullshit. It's not like they have to have all new textures, etc... to fill the size of the disc. I'm calling bullshit on this.

no but they have to have all the actors faces digitized for each case, conversations, branching off bits for each truth/doubt/lie. looking at the content in the game, I see how it's big. have you ever played the game?

Who owns the right to LA Noire? Can Rockstar make a sequel or is it still the property of Bondi?
