Recall will turn your mind into a VCR

Two trailers for Recall, an upcoming first-person puzzle game from indie developer Jaewoo Jay Jeon, show off how the game lets you manipulate time like a VCR.

A couple of gameplay trailers for an upcoming new time-bending indie called Recall have been slowly making the rounds lately, and for good reason.

Created by South Korean developer Jaewoo Jay Jeon, Recall is a first-person puzzle game in which players attempt to recover lost memories using a crazy gameplay mechanic that allows them to fast-forward, rewind, and pause time. There haven't been many details released at this point (beyond a planned 2012 release), but luckily, we have a couple of gameplay trailers to ogle.

Not everything I'm seeing in these trailers makes sense to me, yet. However, the bit (in the first video) where the character knocks over a stack of crates, stops time while they're mid-fall, and then uses them as a platform to climb, is pretty awesome.

We'll keep our eye out for more news about Recall as it nears release.

Looks really interesting and all but they've gotta fix that arm animation. It just looks weird.

That looks very interesting. It looks incredibly difficult to conceptualize the problems though, at least in those videos.

Hopefully it turns out to be similar to Portal but I'm guessing their testing budget isn't very good.

Looks very interesting, but it almost looks as if it gives you too much to think about unlike portal, which is.. Orange and blue :)

The best games are the hard thinker games, really utilize those neurons and think abstractly!

For the memories of a lifetime... Recall Recall Recall!

Yeah saw this on the RPS - not much actual gameplay in that video, is there? Looking forward to finding out what kind of puzzles they work out for these mechanics.
