Lollipop Chainsaw is Grasshopper's latest

Grasshopper Manufacture's Suda51 is working on a game where you control an 18 year old cheerleader who must fight zombies.

Grasshopper Manufacture's Suda51 is a busy man. Not only did his team recently ship Shadows of the Damned, he's working on a new Snatcher radio drama in collaboration with Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, and a new music game based on the classic Evangelion anime series. There's still one more project attached to his name, though. Lollipop Chainsaw. Intrigued?

Lollipop Chainsaw is in development for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In the game, you control Juliet, a cheerleader at San Romero High School. Unfortunately, zombies appear at her school on her 18th birthday, and she'll have to wield her pink chainsaw and use her cheerleader-inspired acrobatic skills in order to defeat the undead menace.

Inexplicably, her chainsaw seems to have a severed head on it. Unfortunately, Famitsu's report doesn't seem to cover why that head is there. But, given this is from the mind that created No More Heroes and Killer7, perhaps it's best we don't ask.

This article had a shocking amount of key words which threw up flags in my brain... I got hit with about 5 in a row and was suddenly reaching for my wallet to buy something before I even realized what was going on. "Lollipop Chainsaw" *BOOM* "Hideo Kojima *BAM* "Cheerleader" "high school" *WHACK* "zombies" *WHABAM* "18th birthday *SMACK*... by the time I read "pink chainsaw" I already had money in my hand and I wasn't sure why.
