Put away your "Welcome Back" party-favors for Jackie Estacado, because the protagonist's latest adventure has been pushed to 2012.

Today, 2K Games revealed that the PC and all consoles versions of The Darkness 2 from developer Digital Extremes, have been delayed until February 7 in North America and February 10 in Europe. The game was originally scheduled to launch in early October.

No reason was offered for the game's delay; however, The Darkness 2's original October release put it within the same period as expected heavy-hitters as Gears of War 3 and Battlefield 3. With top-dollar marketing spend attached to Gears and Battlefield, it's possible a delay to The Darkness 2 was to push it into a more favorable commercial launch window.

Comic-Con attendees will have an opportunity to play The Darkness 2 at the Top Cow booth. Eight demo stations are located at booth #2629.

Additionally, Top Cow is presenting a "Spreading The Darkness: From Comic Book to Video Games and Entertainment" panel on July 21 at noon in Room 9 of the convention center. The comic's co-creator will be in attendance along with voice talent featured in the upcoming game.

      Winter is the new Fall.

Fine for me, the fewer titles in November, the better.

That sucks for them. That's going to put them up against Mass Effect 3. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that game.
