Unstoppable Gorg announced by Futuremark
by Alice O'Connor, Jul 19, 2011 8:30am PDTFlying saucers from Planet X are coming from the far reaches of the Solar System, gunning for our precious Earth and dripping with schlock. Shattered Horizon developer Futuremark Games Studios today announced Unstoppable Gorg, a tower defense game with a delightful B movie flavor for PC, Xbox Live Arcade and iPad.
To defend against the dastardly Gorg, Earth's finest will send armed satellites into orbit around planets, moons and space stations. As they're satellites rather than towers, you'll be able to move them around--a feature surprisingly not often explored by the genre.
"With Unstoppable Gorg we have been inspired by classic sci-fi films to create a game of flying saucers, rubbery aliens, dodgy effects and earnest heroes," Futuremark Games Studio director Jaakko Haapasalo said in the announcement. Lovely.
Unstoppable Gorg is the second game Futuremark has announced of the three it teased shortly before E3. The first is iOS game Hungribles, while the remaining title is perhaps the most exciting--a first-person spaceship combat game, seemingly with multiplayer.
