Poland-based start-up Flying Wild Hog has announced its first title, a "cyberpunk" FPS entitled Hard Reset for the PC.

Our interest is immediately piqued considering the game comes from a team comprised of development vets from titles like Bulletstorm, The Witcher 2, and Painkiller. The game is set to launch in September 2011.

In Hard Reset, humanity is "on the verge of extinction" and under constant threat from a menacing robotic horde. "In the only remaining human city of Bezoar, Major Fletcher, an Army Combat Veteran and soldier of the CLN, is dragged into a conflict between two of mankind's greatest enemies. He is to discover that nothing is what it seems to be," a press release revealed. Cyberpunk conspiracies? Sign us up.

The PC-exclusive is powered by the developer's own "Road Hog" technology. PC Gamer has the first screens for the upcoming title. More information will be released online via the game's official site and Facebook and Twitter pages.

You guys might want to put an age portal on this preview video. Just FYI.

There is one listed for this video on our system. Maybe your settings are saved to bypass them?

Appears to be working now. And I personally wasn't saying it for me. I just like this site and didn't want to see you guys getting in trouble.

I must be getting the wrong video if this needs an age portal. It's like a 20 second clip and the most graphic thing besides a train passing is falling 50 feet.

Ahh, so now we know what it's called.

And good to hear that at least some Painkiller folks are there - The Farm 51 isn't doing to good, their game got taken off them by City Interactive and who knows what they're working on now :(

Forgive me if I don't this this is going to be any good. A game coming out in about a month, from a new developer, doesn't really inspire me.

Maybe it'll be good, but I'm not expecting anything.

From the grungy sci fi aesthetic, the exclusively for pc talk and the "blade runner meets painkiller" description I get the feeling this is a Bulletstorm do over by some people can fly dudes who maybe weren't too happy with the company's direction post-Epic.

Is there any relation to the NecroVision team? Because I didn't find that one too hot.

NecroVision was a misstep, and I would guess there are some Farm 51 folks on this team, but I don't take that as damning, this is a new team and a new situation, so not too much baggage eh?

Well the engine looks good enough, and the aesthetics seem solid.
I have to say, having a game with health and armor meters going up to the classic "200", it gives me a good tummy-feeling. I always loved playing through Doom 2 or Marathon on Hell difficulty and finding a desperately needed super-medpak and/or Blue Armor and seeing those numbers hit the ceiling. You felt like you could take on the world.

            Oh. Shooter. Bleh.

I'm very cautious regarding Deus Ex 3. Currently, they've shown some things that I do not like about it (third-person idiocy, cover system, JRPG FMV leanings etc.) and not a single thing that's made me go "yes!". Everything inbetween is up in the air. Also, to whack a dead horsie: not to mention that the PC is the least prioritised platform these days (and the only one I'm interested in).

            My expectations are very low.
