BioWare is returning to San Diego Comic Con, bringing two playables to this year's show. The first is Mass Effect 3. While the game was demoed at E3, this will be the first time that the public will be able to get hands-on with the RPG-flavored shooter. In addition, attendees will also be able to play Dragon Age II: Legacy, a new DLC expansion for the action RPG.

Comic Con runs from July 21st to July 24th. Unfortunately, if you haven't registered for the show yet, it's too late--tickets are already entirely sold out.

Mass Effect 3 is now an rpg-flavored shooter, as opposed to ME1 being more or less a shooter-flavored rpg. I wonder what Dragon Age will resemble by its third iteration.

The Mass Effect series has always been a shooter series.

It really has though. Success in the game has always been more dependent on your ability to aim, move and use cover than it has on your levels and equipment.

This will be awesome. I will buy 3 copies of Metroidvania Dragon Age.

it will be one room, like a play on broadway, where all that changes is a few scenery pieces. there are only 3 characters, and all enemies will be simple texture variations of those characters.

        That's a pretty interesting idea.

Why do people dislike the shooter aspect of ME so much? Thee RPG elements are there, they've just given player skill an influence over success as well the dice rolls.

exactly. also you still assign stat points too. just to a lesser annoying extent. I think people got really bent out of shape of the lack of fumbling around with equipment and an inventory. but everything else RPG like, you said, are present.

DA2's DLC better be f'in cheap, considering that the base game was done so poorly.

I think I'm one of the few who bought dragon age II on release day, enjoyed the hell out of it and still own a copy to play the inevitable DLC.

I've read that DA 2 DLC will focus primarily on Hawke and have more varied environments. we'll see how that pans out!

DLC for a game even its developer and publisher acknowledge is no good?
