Twisted Pixel announced at E3 that The Gunstringer has made the jump from a downloadable title to a full retail game, and the developer has now sent out an official announcement. The Kinect-exclusive game will be coming to brick-and-mortar stores this September, and this marks Twisted Pixel's first boxed release.

"The ball got rolling at an executive retreat where The Gunstringer was made available to some pretty important people, including Steve Ballmer," said CEO Michael Wilford in the announcement. "We were stoked to hear shortly afterwards that everyone loved the game and wanted to give it bigger exposure in the retail market."

Microsoft will be handling publishing duties for the game. "We worked with Microsoft to get the time we needed to take the design in some ambitious directions that weren't going to be possible before," said game director Josh Bear. "We were already excited about the game, but now we're able to do even more with it."

Did they not learn anything from NBA JAM doing this? You'll never get people to shut up about "BUT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO COST $15 I'M NOT BUYING IT FOR $40"

I think this is good news. I feel Twisted Pixel was being stifled creatively with the XBLA download limit dictating how much FMV could be put in the game.

I hope this turn out better than Comic jumper... What a disappointment that was after an such an incredible game like Splosion Man. Twisted pixels gotta earn there respect back from me after that...
