Shuggy, Magic: The Gathering on XBLA this week
by Alice O'Connor, Jun 14, 2011 7:10am PDTWay back in 2007, Microsoft launched the inaugural Dream Build Play contest for games built with its XNA tools. This week, one of that year's finalists, The Adventures of Shuggy, finally arrives on Xbox Live Arcade.
Shuggy's a gem-collecting platformer with numerous bonus mechanics in certain levels, including rotating the screen, teleporation, and time travel. Over 100 levels are included for your platforming pleasure, plus an online head-to-head mode, a turn-based two-player challenge mode, and two-player co-op levels.
This week is also bringing collectible card game sequel Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 to XBLA. It boasts new decks, challenges, and a multiplayer mode over the original. Magic's also out on PC and PlayStation 3 this week.
Both Shuggy and Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 will cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10) apiece.
