Sony has canceled the release of MotorStorm Apocalypse in Japan, reports Andriasang. Following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the game was delayed indefinitely in Japan, Europe, and North America. The game did come out in other regions last month, in the midst of the PlayStation Network downtime.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan did not give a reason for the cancellation, but it seems likely that sensitivity was a concern. MotorStorm Apocalypse is a racing title, but relies on natural disasters like earthquakes to shift the landscape while you navigate the tracks.
