PixelJunk SideScroller announced for PS3
by Alice O'Connor, Jun 07, 2011 3:41am PDTMuch-loved indie developer Q-Games has announced its next game in the delightful PixelJunk series at E3, a side-scrolling shooter. The aptly-named PixelJunk SideScroller is headed to PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network this year.
Based upon a bonus level from PixelJunk Shooter 2, SideScroller features the simulated fluids and gasses from Q-Games' last release. Water, magma, metal and other liquids will be on hand to destroy your foes--or you, if you're not careful.
"Dodge flurries of alien bullets and strategically upgrade weapons as you battle your way through sweeping stages full of hazardous fluid and endless shooting mayhem," the announcement says. To show off your shooting prowess, there'll be online leaderboards and the ability to upload gameplay footage to Youtube.
There's no word on when PixelJunk SideScroller will hit the PlayStation Network beyond "2011." Its price wasn't confirmed, but past PixelJunk games have cost $9.99.
