Mortal Kombat trailer introduces Skarlet

NetherRealm Studios released a new Mortal Kombat trailer today, this time teasing the DLC character Skarlet and showing off a few of her moves.

NetherRealm Studios has released another Mortal Kombat trailer, this time highlighting the upcoming downloadable content character Skarlet. We get quite a few views of her fighting style and X-Ray attack, including what appear to be brief glimpses at two Fatalities.

It's still unclear if Skarlet will be included in the first DLC pack, as producer Ed Boon implied, or if it will be sold separately later. The first pack includes the Klassic skins and Fatalities that were previously only available as pre-order bonuses. It will cost roughly $5 and be available on June 7.

Since this new trailer teases Skarlet being shown off at E3, it seems unlikely that she's included in the Klassic skins pack. We've inquired with NetherRealm Studios, and we'll update as more information becomes available.

              Kitana = Fans
              Mileena = Sais
              Jade = Staff
              Sonya = Jet bombers and a wrist thing that shoots laser beams

              Doesn't exactly seem fair now does it.

      So disappointed. She's awfully similar to the women currently in the game. Why not go with say, Bo Rai Cho? Meat? ANY other character would have been better than this, cmon now.

        You clearly hate boobs.

        Honestly though I'd have been happier with Frost or even Cyber Smoke.

            Multi-player characters don't always have to reflect the story mode, take Kratos for example =/

          I would love to see Frost in there, she would need her move sets changed up though.

        Skarlet was a palette swap of Kitana/Milenna. She was a bugged character that shared their movesets. At least they made her more original now that she is a real character.

        Well it's a character based on a legacy bug from the old titles.

        I think she looks pretty slick. I'm used to MK characters all basically being palette swaps of each other at this point. The core game comes with four male ninjas who all look the same and have some similar moves and then three female ninjas who almost look the same except that one has giant nasty teeth. I'll be fine with it as long as her moves and fighting style are new and interesting.

        All of that though will be useless if they're selling her alone as DLC for $5. I'm not paying five bucks for one new character. If they mix it in with the costume/fatality DLC and sell it altogether then I'll certainly pay up.

      I think she looks solid.

      I think the big thing here will be the price point. If they try to charge us $5/character, I think I'll pass.

      Nice... but I can play street fighter 4 in front of my kids. I can't play this game in front of them.

      Would love to though. Looks like heaps fun.

        Yeah, and there's no option to disable gore. Not on PS3.
