Hothead is at work on yet another DeathSpank game, reports Kotaku. Titled DeathSpank: The Baconing, it's due for PC, Mac, XBLA, and PSN this summer. So far, we haven't seen any of the actual game -- just the funny teaser trailer below.

The Baconing features the title character taking on the Anti-Spank as he looks for the Fires of Bacon. It will be similar to the other two games, but add a few new moves like the shield bash and refined combat mechanics. Of course, the enemies are getting tweaked as well, and Hothead promises they'll employ smarter tactics themselves. Plus, DeathSpank will get a sidekick in this entry, Bob from Marketing.

Hothead also announced a game (or something) based on the geek cult favorite Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy today. The developer recently invited fans to name the next DeathSpank based on limited information, but didn't mention who sent in the winning entry.

But...how are they going to resolve the alternate ending to Thongs of Virtue?

Don't they usually just pick an ending to be "canon"?

Was Thongs of Virtue any good? I only played the first, and it entertained me for a while good enough.

Working on TOV now. It's more of the same in terms of ennemies and combat, though guns make their way into this installment. I really enjoyed Deathspank, and so TOV was a natural buy for me. They are suprisingly long games (which I like), and the humor appeals to me.

If you liked DS, you should like TOV. Don't be looking for anything new though.
