NVidia & 3dfx
by Maarten Goldstein, May 31, 2000 7:27am PDTThere's a Forbes item on Yahoo Finance that is talking about how NVIDIA and 3dfx are heading in opposite directions in the videocard market. They talk about how NVidia's direction is probably the correct one, since their current stock trading price is $110 versus 3dfx's $7 (both started at around $20). Also analysts are expecting NVidia to reach the $1 billion revenue mark faster than any U.S. semiconductor company in history (it's $454 million right now). It seems 3dfx has to get back to the top with their Gigapixel acquisition of late March, since NVidia already won the X-Box battle.

(Not a comment on this particular case, before anyone calls me a 3dfx fanboy (not me, not since Voodoo2)).
