PC owners have gotten a new Brink patch, to fix some of annoyances like the sound bug which leaves multiplayer games silent. Splash Damage detailed the changes in a blog post, which mostly seems focused around bug fixes and interface tweaks.

The patch is available on Steam, so signing in will download it automatically. Splash Damage has also released an update to the Standalone Dedicated Server, so you can grab that from your Steam Tools tab as well.

I was still getting the sound issue playing last night after the patch:(. On one server I was able to play refuel with sound for the first time, but then another server right after the sound would cut out after the first few seconds on every map. Even worse than no sound was the 2-3 invisible players on the enemy team. I don't know if it is some exploit or simply a bug, but it was pretty frustrating.

That stinks. I haven't played with the new patch long enough to determine if sound issues affect me, but I did see an increase in FPS in some spots on the one map I tried it on.

Garbled text issue is still unfixed.

I love the game/gameplay. It's just frustrating when you get on a team that doesn't know what they're doing; or treat it like deathmatch so no one is helping you focus on the objectives.

But, when you get on a good team that communicates well - it's a thing of beauty.

Yep, teamwork makes all the difference in the world in this game. The voice system really needs to be simplified or something, though. It's completely unintuitive.

Love this game. Too bad it launched with the sound issues and text issues. I still say it got a bad rap from reviewers when compared to launch bugs in other games, but oh well. It's in the past.

We're getting there. Text is still garbled in places which can get annoying. Slightly better framerate but AMD still need to do their part to make it really work.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with the garbled text. I had a video card die last year and it started with that (in a whole bunch of games though).
