Persona 2: Innocent Sin coming to North America
by Alice O'Connor, May 24, 2011 6:30am PDTPersona fans, rejoice! The only game in the RPG series never to receive an official North American release, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin, is finally coming Westward. Developer and publisher Atlus announced today that it'll be released this fall on PSP.
The "remastered" port of Persona 2: Innocent Sin runs in the PSP's higher 16:9 resolution, boasting "a sleek new interface, new sidequests in the Climax Theater, and the player's choice of the fully remixed or original soundtrack."
Innocent Sin, the first part of the Persona 2 sub-series, was originally released on PlayStation in Japan in 1999. While the second part, Eternal Punishment, was released in North America back in 2000, Innocent Sin somehow never made it over. However, a group of dedicated fans translated Innocent Sin themselves, finally releasing it in 2008.
Atlus revealed the PSP edition of Innocent Sin for Japan back in October 2010 but wouldn't comment on the possibility of North American release. Now, with the port out in Japan, it comes bearing good news.
