Rumor: First L.A. Noire DLC details leak

A Best Buy flyer may have leaked the first piece of L.A. Noire DLC. According to the ad, it's titled the "Nicholson Electroplating Arson Case," and is free to the first 16 Best Buy purchasers.

It should come as no surprise that L.A. Noire is planning downloadable content, and we may have our first glimpse at it thanks to a flyer from the retailer Best Buy.

Joystiq reports that an ad circular promises the first 16 customers to buy the game at the midnight openings will get an unlock code for the first DLC pack, titled the "Nicholson Electroplating Arson Case."

The ad didn't disclose a release date, or a price for those who don't snag the unlock code. This wouldn't be the first time a L.A. Noire ad leaked info before Rockstar sent out official word, though. A month ago we reported on an ad that teased PS3-exclusive content called the "Consul's Car Traffic Case."

The flyer seems legitimate, but this is a rumor until we hear official word from developer Team Bondi or the publisher, Rockstar. We've contacted Rockstar for confirmation, and we'll update as we learn more.

This DLC stuff is getting out of hand. I don't even want to know about DLC until a good 3 months after the original game is released. If they can talk about it before release they can release it with the game.

They kind of have to. 3 months after the average person has beat the game, they will have traded it in. Plus there's if you release DLC too late people are less likely to go back. You have to keep them around.

Plus if they can talk about it, they can release it with the game makes no sense.

I think when you buy a game, you should just get the base engine that runs the game, and then every item, quest, content, characters, all that should be DLCs

Yeah they probably didn't have time to complete all the actual content of the game and just kept working on it after the engine went gold.

I just found a blog that's giving out the DLC for all the extra cases!

I just got my Slip Of The Tongue Case DLC, but I don't know if there's anymore DLC codes left. If you want to check it out, here's the site:
