At a Namco Bandai event in Dubai, the publisher announced a new Tekken title; however, the next title is actually a movie and not a game. Tekken: Blood Vengeance brings the franchise to the world of CG movies, written by Dai Sato, of Cowboy Bebob and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex fame and animated by Digital Frontier, makers of the CG film Resident Evil: Degeneration.

Giant hand? Check. Flying Panda? Check. Oscar winner? Soon enough.

The teaser trailer presented to attendees at the event can be viewed below and while the experience is only a brief glimpse, it quickly establishes itself as tailor-made for Tekken fans. How? Extreme, high-flying Panda action! Tekken: Blood Vengeance tells the story between between the events of Tekkens 5 and 6, that is "parallel" to the canonical Tekken fiction, according to GameSpot UK. Nacmo Bandai says that the film will be available in both English and Japanese language and that some of the game's voice actors will be used for the film. More details regarding the film are expected at E3 2011.

I don't care that the Panda is not actually the one doing the flying. Don't ruin my dreams.

If you squint it looks like a Square Pictures movie. Dang - I just made myself sad.
