Dark Souls to emerge in October

A new trailer for Dark Souls has revealed that the successor to Demon's Souls will arrive on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in October 2011.

The successor to the unforgiving third-person action game Demon's Souls has had a small light shined upon its release window.

Originally scheduled to arrive within the vague window of "sometime in 2011," a new trailer from publisher Namco Bandai has revealed that Dark Souls will now arrive sometime within October 2011.

Dark Souls brings the controller throwing mayhem of the first game back to the PS3 and--for the first time--to the Xbox 360.

Shackers craving more Dark Souls info should check back tomorrow, when a full preview for the upcoming title will hit the site.

      Can not wait!

Demon Souls is right up there on my all time list of greatness.

Hope they don't add regenerating health and big button prompts to appeal to the masses :-)

      I'm sure that won't happen!!

Not much danger of missing that deadline if you have the game now. Short playtime was one of the game's few negatives.

It's Greatest Hits, so I grab it in a few weeks after LA Noire etc...

Someone did a speed run in less than an hour. it's definitely short.

It works the same way as retro games did. it seemed longer because you went to the same spot 17 times. =)

He was massively over powered using homing soul arrow the entire way through if im not mistaken, a bit different with a level one soldier type. new game + etc is all part of it anyway!

Definitely not short for my first time play through, i'm not finished with it yet, other games keep interrupting.

That's not much time. The game technically isn't very long, but the LTP factor is huge.

Yeah, if I remember right, Sony actually published Demon's Souls in Japan. Atlus got the rights for translation and publishing for USA/EU, but not going to happen for MS.

Same deal here as PS3 getting only Mass Effect 2, but not ME1.

I got a bad first impression playing Demon's Souls, but I've been thinking recently of hoping back in.

That happened to me too. I ended up just looking up a solid character build, and started having a lot of fun in the mid-game when you really see the benefits of your build take shape, and you start rocking bosses even some on first try.

Rerolled to a Temple Knight with faith build, primary focus on Blessed Knight Sword +5 and Dark Silver Shield +5.

Put in some direct-invite co-op instead of the haphazard method in DS and bought'd

That would be magical. The current system is definitely pretty cool, but playing with a dedicated friend would be that much more awesome...though probably make the game much easier.
