The 3D zombie apocalypse is only a month away, Capcom has announced. Today, the publisher/developer has revealed that Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will arrive on store shelves for the Nintendo 3DS on June 28.

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is the first of two titles in the famed zombie franchise headed to the Nintendo 3DS. Mercenaries brings the bonus Mercs mode from the Resident Evil franchise to the spotlight and onto store shelves by itself for the first time.

A release date has yet to be established for Capcom's second Nintendo 3DS-exclusive Resident Evil title, Revelations.

In the African and Spanish settings they aren't really zombies, and do appear to still do some mining and other work.

Not crazy about the direction the RE series is going. Seems as random and nonsensical as any other long-running Japanese-developed videogame series though so I'm not surprised.

That's fine and will probably be okay, but I'm personally looking forward to Revelations more.
