Rage gameplay trailer: busting bunkers

Five more minutes of condensed Rage gameplay are on show in a new trailer, tackling the bomb-mad Shrouded clan in id's drive-o-shooter.

Another Rage gameplay trailer has been quite literally uploaded to the Internet, giving a condensed five-minute look at a mission from id Software's post-apocalyptic drive-y shooter.

This time, we see the player venturing into a bunker of the Shrouded clan to destroy its bomb caches. The sentry turret and spider bot get a lot of screen time too. While we can all agree that spiders are the worst thing imaginable, that gadget's pretty cute.

Rage is scheduled to launch for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 13, published by Bethesda Softworks. Pre-ordering from select retailers will net you bonus goodies including a snazzy sawn-off shotgun.

But without the full open world co-op or the huge variety of gun loot :(

I'm not a fan of randomized loot mechanics, mostly because after the first X hours of gameplay, 90% of the loot is worse than the stuff you're carrying. This was what really made me bored of Torchlight after a while: staring at stats 50% of the time, instead of playing the game.

Nearly 6 months to go still, think they are over saturating.

I hope they don't blow their wad too early with too much footage. I still want to be surprised.

It's a new IP, until very recently people had no idea what it was despite years of trailers.

Also, I think there's a ton we haven't seen yet- so far we've just had footage from disc 1 of 2.

It's borderlands meets fallout series... awesome. nothing beat the guy kicking the sentry turret near the end.

Yeah, that was neat. I like how natural the enemy's behaviour seems.

I liked the added touch of the unsuspecting shrouded soldier playing with the explosive RC car before it was detonated by the player's bullet. It is the small subtleties like these that make the character AI seem much more natural and convincing :)

I second that, it was pretty awesome the bad guy kicking the turret.

Totally. Urge to kill rising when I see someone missing a stationary enemy.

        Game looking great though.

The part at 2:31 where it jumps the crate and crushes the dude hiding in cover is awesome. The way ai moves over the level in this game is super fluid.

Another video showing off some excellent animations for the enemies. At least in that department, this game is way ahead of other shooters.

Battlefield 3 is looking better in the animation department, but both are pretty advanced.

Looks okay but it really makes me want Fallout 4.

I'd like Fallout 4 to be big and have vehicles options, like crossing some giant stretch of radioactive desert should only be attempted with a ride of some kind, and if you get a hold of a vertibird then you can reach some new areas or islands.

I wonder how they're dealing with the sudden changes in resolution between the wall textures, entities, and the in-game flash. As always, I will buy because I love Tim Willits!

My God those sounds effects are horrible, they sound so tinny and lifeless.

The graphics look a little cartoony also.
