The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle has closed, bringing in a grand total of $909,918.39. Windows users made up about 2/3 of the purchases, with Mac and Linux splitting the remainder almost evenly. But as per usual, Windows users paid the lowest average price ($3.91). Mac users paid more ($6.42), and Linux users blew them both out of the water ($11.82). The average price across all platforms was $4.97, and the highest contribution came from an anonymous donor, for $2,222.22.

This was the Humble Bundle's first time highlighting a specific developer, Frozenbyte, and didn't hit the million mark like the Bundle's previous, more varied incarnations. It's hard to blame Frozenbyte, though, since this edition may have simply gotten less attention, or had people donating less if they had already bought the other two bundles.

Regardless, $910K is nothing to sneeze at. That money will be split among Frozenbyte, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Child's Play, and the Humble Bundle for operating costs. A recent SEC filing uncovered by Gamasutra revealed that the Humble Bundle company is backed by a whopping $4.7 million in venture capital.

This was my least favorite bundle so far mostly because I already had the games on this list for PC but I still bought it for the linux game support.

I'm not surprised it made less than the other ones. Less good games, less interest. Stil pretty good. I just hope they don't think the humble bundle thing was a fad, because I think it's 100% because of the content.

In my opinion, the quality of Trine and the Shadowgrounds games is much higher than most of the games in the previous bundles. The problem is that most of their target audience (more-than-casual PC gamers who keep up with this sort of thing) already owned them. Also, the developer in question is a little more established than most so the "hey I need to support the little guy" vibe is not as intense. Consequently many passed on this one or didn't donate as much since having Linux support is nice but the game's already in your Steam list.

900k for a developer-specific bundle is really, really good. On a semi-related note, I cannot wait for Trine 2.

It's cool to see new ideas workout. Maybe not to 100% success, but enough that they'll keep trying.

      Kudos!

I already own Trine on PS3 and PC but bought it to support the whole Humble Bundle thing and to push it closer to releasing a level editor for Trine. I still want to see what that looks like.
