Telltale signs on as Xbox 360 publisher

Telltale Games, the independent developer and publisher known for its PC adventure titles, announced today that it has signed an agreement to publish games for the Xbox 360. The announcement stopped short of naming specific titles it planned to bring to the platform.

"Adding console support to our acknowledged expertise in digital downloads is another positive step in our long-term growth strategy," said CEO Dan Connors in the announcement. "We are pleased to expand the size of our potential audience by encompassing the Xbox 360 console consumer and bring our vision of video gaming to them."

Some of Telltale's recent episodic games have come as downloadables to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and the company has self-published its games on PC and Mac. By comparison, this seems like a move into publishing boxed retail products for a console. The studio has Law & Order: LA, Fables, and The Walking Dead games on the horizon, all of which could be contenders for this new effort.

Interestingly, we also recently heard that the Jurassic Park game has been delayed to the fall to polish gameplay mechanics. The title has been referred to as "multiplatform" by Telltale, so it may also be an Xbox 360 title in the making.
