Yesterday, if you haven't been keeping track of things, was Tuesday. As ever, Sony celebrated the weekday with a new round of releases for the PlayStation 3 and PSP through the PlayStation Store.

This week's new PlayStation 3 titles were anime fighter Arcana Heart 3, fancy platformer The Fancy Pants Adventures, vintage TG-16 Legend of Zelda clone Neutopia, the classic Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Telltale's Puzzle Agent. That's not all, as survival horror Dino Crisis 2 and Square's RPG Threads of Fate were also re-released as PSone Classics.

As for demos, PS3 players got a trial for Fancy Pants Adventures and a taste of Virtua Tennis 4's World Tour mode.

A small selection of discounts were rolled out, the most exciting of which is Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for only $6.99, down from $14.99.

There was little especially interesting on the downloadable content front. You'll find the usual assortment of new rhythm game tracks, booster packs for Japanese games, and what have you.

PlayStation Plus subscribers are treated to an early release of the first chapter in Red Johnson's Chronicles along with a 50% discount on it.

Over on the PSP, you'll find Neutopia there too, along with an assortment of Minis games, and downloadable releases of Puzzle Guzzle and Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection.

You can find the full update listing over on the PlayStation Blog.

It's a 2D fighter in the realm of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue. The arenas are huge, and a lot of the combat can take place in the air. I like it for some of the more zany characters, like a kid that draws a chalk monster onto the pavement, which immediately pulls itself upright into a fighting stance. All of the menus and dialogue text is translated to English in the PSN version, and arcade purists can actually change it all back to Japanese with a toggle in the system options menu. (History: The original Arcana Heart was released on the PS2 in the U.S, but the 2nd game was not localized, with many claiming that it was a bad port from the arcade original, it's extremely unlikely that the 3rd installment would have made it to the states if the consoles did not have reasonably robust download stores such as PSN and XBLA)
