[Update: 5:40pm] Regarding Twitter's possible return to Uncharted 3, a representative at Naughty Dog told Shacknews: "What we’ve discussed so far [Facebook and YouTube] is the extent to which we’ve planned and begun implementing social media/network features into U3." Of course, since the game is still in development, "that can change," the rep says. [Original Story] Like the "Running Man" was popular in the late 80s, video game beta tests are all the rage in today's modern society. Most recently from Sony's camp were beta tests for high profile titles such as Killzone 3 and SOCOM 4, with a (previously announced) beta for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception coming later this summer. Today, Naughty Dog and Sony revealed exactly when gamers get their first taste of the next game in the Nathan Drake saga. PlayStation Plus subscribers and Infamous 2 purchasers will gain early access to the test on June 28. The beta will launch for all PSN users on July 5. Naughty Dog has also announced that multiple social media platforms will be integrated into the game's online modes. Facebook and YouTube will now thread through the Uncharted experience, along with a new video service the developer has aptly dubbed "Uncharted TV." The Facebook integration will allow players to manually share their Uncharted 3-based accomplishments with their Facebook friends, as well as message and play with their friends whether they are connected to the PSN or not. The game also has an embedded Facebook news feed.

Like Uncharted 2, the latest game in the series will feature a Cinema Mode that will give players players the ability to watch previous multiplayer matches and edit clips. The addition of YouTube in Uncharted 3 will now give users the ability to upload video content directly to the video service within the game's menu. Naughty Dog will run the best "plays of the week" and other special features through the "Uncharted TV" service. Uncharted 2 started Naughty Dog's obsession with social media by integrating Twitter with some of the game's content, to mixed reaction. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception launches exclusively for the PS3 on November 1, 2011.
