If you buy a new copy of SOCOM 4, you'll get access to what Zipper Interactive is calling "SOCOM Pro," the company announced today. Pro access means you're part of a club with regular content updates from Zipper Interactive.

This club includes "Pro" custom game queues on launch day and throughout the game's lifespan, and two exclusive weapons (the M-16 and AK-47) within the first 30 days of release. The team at Zipper also promises other forthcoming freebies like exclusive multiplayer maps, co-op additions, and dedicated leaderboards.

If you buy a used copy of SOCOM 4, you'll have to shell out a one-time fee of $14.99 on the PlayStation Store for Pro access, which will be available a week after its release. If this all sounds familiar to you, that's because it's almost exactly what EA popularized with Project Ten Dollar. We've seen other developers jumping on the idea as well, and earlier today Sony announced a similar new copy incentive for MotorStorm Apocalypse. Of course, there are other reasons to grab a new copy of SOCOM 4 as well.

so it will be even more bland and terrible if you buy it used? I didn't think that was possible.

Demo was horrible. Reminded me of why I went back to PCs for shooters...it's all about the controls.

It wasn't a demo, it's a beta. There is a difference...and the "Reminded me of why I went back to PCs for shooters...it's all about the controls." it's just stupid to bring this up once again. You most likely just suck or out of practice at playing shooters on a console. After playing for a hour or so on any shooter, you'll get back into the groove of getting headshots. :)
