Two Worlds II getting pirates-themed expansion

Two Worlds II will be getting sky pirates as an expansion pack in September.

Two Worlds II will be getting a pirate-themed expansion pack in the fall, publisher Topware announced today. Of course, since this is an RPG and everything is magical, they can't just be pirates. So these are sky pirates.

The "Pirates of the Flying Fortress" pack will launch this September for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, promising new single- and multiplayer content. Developer Reality Pump will be bringing thunder and rain storms, new bosses and weapons with which to take down those bosses, impact-oriented horse armor and more breeds, and new cut-scene animations and dialog.

The announcement sheds about as little light as possible on the titular pirates, other than to say their world is "gloomy." Apparently these aren't of the Penzance variety, which is too bad; if only a developer were brave enough to give us foppish, musical pirates.

Is the Town mode on this cool? It sounded cool from a few videos I saw but never heard anything about it in action.

What is the Shackpinion on this game? The 360 version is down to $39.99 on Amazon, and the gameplay videos on YouTube make it look like it might be a decent game. Not as good of a story as Oblivion maybe, but perhaps better controls and more of a hack/slash/loot style of gameplay?

Yeah, the story/animations are typical ERPG-level stuff (not impressive), but the gameplay is pretty solid and it's got a huge world to explore, lots of quests, and a fuckton of loot.

I really liked it, it pretty much was what I hoped Arcania to be. I would liked more environments like in Arcania, like European Forests and stuff like that, but other than that it was really cool with lots of customizable stuff. The way you can create your own spells is great too. I played the PC version though.

The gameplay has always been very solid for this franchise, although it isn't as good as the first one. Still I enjoyed the hell out of it and I will play it again later, like I did with the first one. The story is a direct sequel of the first game, it plays a couple of years later, but it doesn't matter if you missed it. Just some references and character links you might miss out on bu that is all. In my book it's not far behind on the Elder Scrolls series in terms out gameplay :)
