by Alice O'Connor, Apr 12, 2011 12:00pm PDTDuring it's media-fest Captivate today, Capcom announced an open-world action game for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 by the name of Dragon's Dogma.
Set in an open world with "hundreds of fully voiced NPCs," Dragon's Dogma is based around a quest to find and destroy a "mysterious" dragon. Along the way, you'll be slaying goblins, griffins, and other nasties. Capcom promises "accessible depth," with factors from weapon weight and armour material to even your leg length affecting combat.
Developed internally, Dragon's Dogma is being created by unnamed individuals said to have been "responsible for" Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4.
Accompanying you on your travels will be three party members, who Capcom says "fight independently of you, demonstrating prowess and ability they have developed based on traits learned over time from you and your actions."
It's all built upon Capcom's MT Framework, the engine used in Resident Evil 5, Lost Planet 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and heaps more games.
Dragon's Dogma will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2012.
